You're in the right place - The Campaign

This Vehicle Is Ready To Serve. It Just Isn't Ours Yet.

DriveAble Foundation is raising the funds to acquire and wrap a Cybertruck, then put it to work giving free rides to people who can no longer drive themselves to their jobs. Full Self-Driving runs supervised on every trip, so the people we serve don't just hear about the future of accessible transportation. They ride in it.

Every piece of this is ready except the vehicle itself. Looking for the Family Drivers program instead? That page is here.

Why This Truck Matters

The infrastructure is built. The vehicle is the missing piece.

Across the country, 1.6 million people under 40 already live with vision loss that correction can't fix, most of them working age, most of them in places without reliable public transit. DriveAble Foundation exists to get them to work anyway.

Right now, that trip to work happens because a family member or a volunteer drives them, using their own car, for free. We recognize those drivers directly - but their own vehicle still absorbs real cost every time, cost we can't yet pay back. This truck is what removes that cost for good, one dedicated vehicle instead of everyone's personal car.

The riders in this program will watch Full Self-Driving operate on every trip, the same technology already carrying passengers on their own in four US cities. They won't just be told independence is coming. They'll see it, from the passenger seat, on the way to work.

The Bigger Picture
The foundation exists because the system failed three generations of my family. My father lost his independence. My nephew may never drive. And my own vision is fading. The technology to fix this is already here. We are making sure it reaches the people who need it.
Jerrod Young, Founder

Right now, before this truck exists, people who can't drive because of vision loss still get to work the same way most of them always have: a family member or a volunteer driving them, in that person's own car, at that person's own expense. It works, but it costs the driver something real - wear, depreciation, and time that never gets fully repaid. This truck is how that cost goes away. It's not a separate goal from supporting those drivers. It's the actual fix.

A specific goal, a specific vehicle, a specific first rider waiting on the other side of it. This is the one campaign where your gift has a finish line we can point to.
